Job Overview

The Senior DevOps Engineer (Development Operations Engineer) manages and improves the communication between the operations and development teams for the PIXO Apex™ Platform software development process. Duties include creating and managing a product update launch process, identifying and solving production errors and issues, maintaining and owning a stable and secure environment and building integrations that improve users’ experience.

Reporting to the VP of Technology, the Senior DevOps Engineer will coordinate and improve communication and information sharing between the software development, operations and testing teams. The Senior DevOps Engineer will work closely with the product and customer success team to understand customer platform requests, especially around platform standards and security, and build software and tools to reduce user errors and improve the customer’s overall experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guide teams in designing, building, testing and deploying changes to existing software. This includes the cloud platform, SDKs, and XR module development
  • Enhance the company’s IT infrastructure security protocols and compliance 
  • Identify manual processes that can be automated, i.e Continuous Integration (CI), testing standards, code analyzation and code deployment
  • Maintain and improve the company’s cloud infrastructure across multiple providers and in different Global regions
  • Utilize various open source technologies
  • Use industry standard tools to orchestrate solutions and monitor environments
  • Build independent web based tools, microservices and solutions
  • Write scripts for automation 
  • Configure and manage data sources like MySQL, PostGres
  • Understand how various cloud systems integrate
  • Manage source control tools and automation

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience deploying to and automating AWS platform with cloud first mentality
  • 3 years of experience in managing Linux based infrastructure
  • Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes or other container based stacks
  • Understanding of Android based languages
  • Working knowledge of SOC 2, FERPA, GDPR, and ISO/IEC 27001 compliance
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the organization

  • Ability to be self-directed and manage deliverables independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
