PIXO VR Ladder Safety Training
PIXO VR Ladder Safety Training
Practice proper ladder usage techniques in the safety of VR.
Create a safer workspace from the bottom up.
Every year, tens of thousands of workers are injured by falls in the course of their day-to-day jobs. In Ladder Safety Training, practice basic — but no less important — ladder safety techniques to ensure you don’t become another statistic in these all-too-common and entirely avoidable workplace hazards. Be sure you’re paying close attention, this module is the very definition of “hands-on” training.
Looks safe for use, right? Better take a second look.
With virtually endless randomized equipment faults, Ladder Safety Training challenges trainees to pay close attention to every step in the process of completing "simple" day-to-day jobs, such as hanging a sign or changing a lightbulb. Don't assume things are safe. Verify that they really are, or you'll experience the (simulated) consequences.
It's not just which ladder you choose — but how you use it.
Any given ladder may be perfectly safe for use when sitting in a utility closet, but become a potentially deadly accident-in-the-making if its intended user deploys it improperly. In Ladder Safety, everything from inspecting the area and choosing the correct ladder for the job, to properly placing it in position for work and ensuring you climb up and down safely matters.
Core Learning Objectives
With four core learning objectives, Lockout/Tagout Safety Training challenges trainees to practice and be assessed on their knowledge and understanding of critical safety protocols.
Survey the work area
Trainees survey the area to isolate any hazards present and determine correct ladder height.
Select and inspect the correct ladder for the task
Ensure the ladder chosen meets the needs of the task, including material and height, (a site survey will alert the user to make corrections if needed). Trainees must inspect the ladder for damage, correct markings, etc. to determine if it is safe for use.
Set up the ladder for safe use
Did trainees deploy the ladder as it was designed, or, for example, lean it against a wall?
Demonstrate proper ladder usage techniques
Did trainees climb properly — hand over hand, staying within the confines of the rails? Did they use the top two rungs? Did they lean to the side to complete their task? Technique matters!
