Electrical Safety

Arc Flash and Lockout/Tagout training in fully immersive and interactive VR.

Learn and train critical safety procedures in an electrical substation.

In Electrical Safety, use the proper skills, techniques, and tools to safely service and maintain electrical panels at an electrical substation. But be sure to stay alert and engaged at all times — arc flashes can be unpredictable…and deadly.

Inspect tools and don proper PPE before entering the substation.

Developed by our Content Partners at Buzzark, Electrical Safety first guides trainees through a PPE selection process to ensure they're choosing the right equipment for safely entering and working at the Electrical Substation. Then it's on to completing the critical task at hand.

Isolate electrical panels, perform Lockout/Tagout, and remove fuses... safely.

After donning PPE, trainees are instructed on isolating electrical panels, racking them out, and performing a proper LOTO on them. Upon completion, users are challenged to remove fuses and inspect for safety with simulated voltage detectors and discharge sticks. After that, the stakes get even higher.

Practice for potentially deadly mistakes in the safety of VR.

Simulating proper electrical safety procedures is critical to avoiding costly mistakes — but in the real world, mistakes still happen. Will trainees know what to do in the case of a potentially life-threatening arc flash event? Assess trainee capabilities in the safety of VR — before they're asked to respond to one in "real life".

Core Learning Objectives

Buzzark's Electrical Safety challenges trainees to prove their knowledge of safety procedures to achieve four core objectives.

Isolation of panels and Lockout/Tagout procedure

Learn and practice critical safety protocols for isolation of panels and proper LOTO procedures.

Rack Out procedure training

Disconnect a circuit so it can't conduct electric power where work is being performed.

Practice with simulated real-world tools

Learn and train on the use of safety tools such as an audio/visual non-contact voltage detector and discharge stick.

Arc Flash safety protocols and response

Challenge trainees on their knowledge of what to do in the event of a dangerous arc flash.

"Out of 13 companies, we chose PIXO VR for their track record of innovation and attentiveness to our needs. The quality of their VR speaks for itself, but their work history, depth of knowledge, and ability to scale to meet our needs won us over. Completely."
