What You'll Learn

In this workplace CPR training course employees will not only learn the proper procedure for CPR, but will be able to practice it to ensure they can perform it in a real-life emergency. This training will teach users to:

  • React quickly
  • Check for responsiveness by tapping on the patient’s shoulder
  • Call for emergency help
  • Perform chest compression at proper compression depth and rate
  • Pause for a partner to perform rescue breaths
  • Resume chest compressions and rescue breaths until help arrives or patient recovers

The VR Experience

This VR CPR training course has tutorial scenarios as well as scenarios that are scored assessments for CPR certification. The tutorial scenarios walk the user through the proper techniques for performing CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The tutorials cover hand placement, and users will have hand controllers that are necessary to demonstrate the proper position. The tutorials also teach chest compressions and maintaining 100-120 compressions per minute at a depth of 2-2.4 inches. A pillow can be used in real life in place of the simulated victim to assist in this. When tutorials and practice is complete, the user can move on to the assessment scenario where they will be graded on following the CPR process and reacting quickly. When the scenario is finished, the user will enter the grading room to see their performance scores. The user will fail the assessment if they did not activate the partner to start the CPR rescue breaths within 40 seconds of the lesson starting, if CPR hasn’t been restarted within 30 seconds of using the shock button, or if the scenario is not completed within 2 minutes.
