The VR Experience
In Safe Kitchen VR’s Hazard Recognition Training module, users are educated on many of the common hazards in a commercial kitchen. Throughout the training, users will navigate their way through a virtual commercial kitchen and select the related question mark icon to learn about the most common hazards such as spills, hot surfaces, and improper storage. Participants will familiarize themselves with these hazards before moving onto an assessment scenario that tests their comprehension. The assessment evaluates their demonstrated knowledge of maintaining safety standards. Mistakes during training lead to realistic consequences, such as receiving warnings for not following protocols, suffering burns or cuts due to poor handling, causing a fire by mishandling equipment, or causing cross-contamination that results in a customer complaint. Correct responses, such as quickly cleaning up spills and properly using equipment, can prevent accidents and ensure a safe and efficient kitchen operation.
