ROYAL OAK, Mich. — Extended reality solutions provider, PIXO has announced new headset availability and various updates for their ‘Natural Gas Leak Emergency Response‘ module, available on Apex™.

The updates made for this module are as follows:

• Voice over IP upgraded for better communication
• Engine upgraded to Unreal Engine 4.26
• Evacuating media will relocate NPCs to safe area
• Pico Multiplayer servers available
• Pico overall visual improvement

This module requires trainees to recognize and react to three different emergency response scenarios. The first scenario exposes trainees to an uncontrollable blowing gas situation caused by an excavator damaging an underground gas facility. The second scenario is an ignited gas situation which is an escalation of the blowing gas situation. The third scenario involves migration of gas in the centerline sewers and storm drains with the immediate area of an underground leak. In all three scenarios, the trainee has to demonstrate their knowledge and skill of assessing the scene, communicating to the proper internal and external stakeholders, evacuating, ventilating, and performing the correct actions to Protect Life then Property.
