Working at Heights Training - Oil and Gas Platform
Keep offshore workers safe with immersive VR training for the oil and gas industry
Floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) requires workers to work at heights that present safety hazards. This oil and gas VR training allows oil rig workers to safely learn the potential risks of FPSO operation. Workers will practice selecting and using the proper safety equipment and perform various tasks at heights according to OSHA industry safety standards. This VR FPSO training assessment can be applied for training, recycling and monitoring the risk awareness of employees working on FPSO vessels.
What You'll Learn
The objective of this virtual reality experience is to raise awareness within the oil and gas industry about the risks and preventive measures against accidents in work at heights on an oil and gas platform (FPSO). The VR simulation will help employees to:
- Identify and inspect the PPE and tools necessary for the safe execution of a work at height task
- Correctly apply the protective equipment (such as a safety harness)
- Execute technical operations while working at heights
- Identify and apply standard safe work procedures in a scaffolding scenario
The VR Experience
Users of this virtual reality simulation don a VR headset and are taken to a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) where they will encounter various scenarios for working at heights in the industry. The training begins with the users selecting correctly their personal protective equipment and work tools. They will be challenged to perform work requirements while on elevated areas on the FPSO vessel such as a turret. They also must perform a routine task on the scaffolding on the deck. Once all of the tasks are complete, the training provides a score on how well the employee met the safety requirements. Utilizing VR in oil and gas industry has been proven to reduce training costs for FPSO training and keep workers safer than traditional training.
