Confined Spaces Training - Safety Processes

Get workers realistic training to safely work in confined spaces

This confined space training focuses on helping workers learn appropriate procedures for working in permit required confined spaces. Virtual reality (VR) helps employees learn to identify spaces that require permits and the safety equipment and processes to work within those confined spaces. This training includes PPE, hazard detection including gas, and proper communication when working in a confined space.

What You'll Learn

This VR confined spaces training course helps workers who may encounter confined spaces to know when a permit is required and the proper process to follow in order to safely work within the space. Workers will learn:

  • Identifying Types of Confined Spaces – Determine if a permit is required for entry or not, and must label each space as such.
  • Protection & Communication – Putting on the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintaining communication.
  • Hazards & Gas Detection – Remove visible hazards, place barriers and test the air quality.

The VR Experience

This VR confined spaces training has three training scenarios to prepare the user for the fourth segment which is an assessment of their knowledge. The training scenarios guide the user through identifying permit required confined spaces, equipping proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), setting up safety equipment, and managing communication and air quality devices. They will have a chance to complete all three training and practice scenarios that lead up to an unguided full length experience. In the final assessment, the user needs to perform all of the required setup for entering a confined space. This includes identifying the permit status, putting on their PPE, and clearing hazards and setup barriers. Then when it is safe to enter the space, they will need to make their way to the back area and turn off the gas valve. The user will then need to consistently communicate through their communication device and check in on the attendee while turning off the gas valve. Once the scenario is complete, the user will be teleported back to the training room where they will be shown their performance scores.
